The E-learning Team were excited to host the ProMonitor Special Digital Innovation Roundtable event on Wednesday 15th at Croydon College, facilitated by Julian Bream
We had a great turn out of ProMonitor, E-learning and MIS professionals, from various colleges and Julian kicked off with introductions and finding out what people were hoping to gain from the day.
The theme of the day was the 'Collection and creative use of data to support college business and the curriculum' and, as hosts, Andrew and I had prepared presentations around this theme.
I presented on one of our current developments, the Assessment Schedule Report project, in which we have collected and combined data from our in-house Validation Application, Moodle and ProMonitor before pushing this data back into ProMonitor where we can use the powerful reporting module to produce reports to empower managers and teaching staff and support the Quality cycle, awarding body requirements and improve student achievement.
Andrew presented on the unique ProMonitor Moodle Plugin, which is a pivotal part of the Assessment Schedule Report project, and also has the potential for more powerful sharing of data between the two systems, which we are planning to start work on soon.
Both presentations opened up some interesting questions & answers and discussions around the various aspects of both projects and Julian had to remind the group that the clock was ticking.
Finally we took a look at the front end of ProMonitor with discussions around how we, as different colleges, managed the various areas and it was fascinating to find out what different people were doing.
Thank you to everyone who attended for contributing to a very interesting and lively roundtable.
Julian is now arranging a Round II, which is likely to be held at Richmond in early July.
